A busy week at the Universal Studios UK construction site!

It’s been a noticeably busy week at the Universal Studios UK site, with major groundwork activity taking place on the large concrete slab area. After months of relative quiet, the site has suddenly come to life — and it’s clear that preparations are shifting into a higher gear.

Several large excavators have been spotted on-site, joined by a huge dumper truck and a stone crusher machine that’s been hard at work breaking down the vast mounds of waste bricks and rocks left over from the old brickworks.

Of the three large excavators currently on-site, two are equipped with standard digging and scraping buckets, while the third features a pneumatic breaker attachment — ideal for smashing through the stubborn concrete remains still scattered across the area.

It appears that much of the brick rubble has now been crushed and spread across previously uneven sections of ground, creating flatter and more stable surfaces. This could be in preparation for additional infrastructure — possibly to make room for the upcoming construction village that will support the next stages of development.

All in all, it’s been an incredibly active and productive week at the Universal Studios UK site. Visible progress like this is always exciting, and it’s clear that the groundwork is being laid — quite literally — for something big to come.
