Work has been steadily progressing this week at the back end of the mysterious lake zone, and some interesting new developments have caught our attention. Several pond-like holes are now being dug, and naturally, this raises the question—what exactly are they for?
At first glance, the most obvious explanation might be ponds designed to support local wildlife, perhaps even newts or other species that need protected habitats. However, there’s a catch: the liners being used don’t immediately look waterproof. Without a closer look, it’s hard to be certain, but it does leave room for speculation.
Another possibility—though one I personally doubt—is that these could be related to site drainage. The location and the distance from the nearby concrete slab make that theory feel a little unlikely.
If I had to hazard a guess, I’d lean towards these works being tied to wildlife protection. Developers often need to take ecological measures into account, and creating designated habitats wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
Still, the mystery remains unsolved.
