This week, my wife and son have jetted off to Universal Studios Japan, and from everything I’ve seen and heard, they’re having the absolute time of their lives. Every message, every photo they’ve sent me has been filled with excitement — from the dazzling rides and jaw-dropping attractions to the incredible food and atmosphere that only Universal can deliver.
They’ve already explored Super Nintendo World, which my son has been talking about for months, and apparently it’s even better in person — full of colour, energy, and that perfect mix of nostalgia and new adventures. My wife says the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was nothing short of magical (pun intended). She’s been sending me videos of butterbeer toasts and snapshots of Hogwarts Castle lit up at night — it honestly looks breathtaking.
Meanwhile, I’m back here at home, working hard to pay for it all, watching the photos roll in and missing them both terribly. Don’t get me wrong — I’m thrilled they’re having such an amazing time, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish I could have joined them!
They keep telling me that this trip has made them even more excited about Universal Studios coming to Bedford in the UK. The thought that soon we’ll have our very own park just a few hours away is unbelievable. If it’s even half as good as Japan’s version, it’s going to be a massive hit — and we’ll definitely be first in line when it opens.
Until then, I’ll keep scrolling through the photos, smiling at their happy faces, and counting down the days until they’re back home. I might be missing them a great deal right now, but seeing them so happy makes it all worth it.
