East West Rail says trains will call at a station serving the new Universal theme park within the first few years of the park’s opening, according to a Facebook post published on 14 April 2026.
The rail company said it is speeding up parts of its Oxford–Cambridge line plans because of the expected demand from the resort. The post said this could mean more frequent services, longer trains, and the possibility that a brand new station could be delivered up to five years earlier than originally planned.
The Facebook post described these changes as an indication of the size of the project and said the impact would extend beyond Bedford to the wider region. The post also linked to a BBC article in its comments.
The Facebook update asked readers whether rail would be their preferred way of travelling to the resort.
