The BBC has been speaking to Bedfordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, who says Bedfordshire Police are already working with Universal and Bedford Borough Council to make sure they’re ready for the resort’s arrival.
One interesting point he raised was the construction phase. With thousands of workers expected on site over the next few years, there are concerns about thefts of machinery and equipment, so plans are already being put in place to help keep the site secure.
It’s another reminder of just how enormous this project is. It’s not just about building a theme park – there are years of planning going on behind the scenes to make sure everything is ready long before the first guests arrive.
