It’s looking incredibly wet across the Core and Lake Zones after last week’s storms.
Could the conditions slow things down this week while the ground dries out? With so much clay beneath these fields, drainage is slow — which helps explain the gravel drainage channels laid across the area years ago.
Now that earthworks have exposed the clay, getting that water away could prove tricky without additional drainage measures. Whether it affects progress remains to be seen, but a few dry days would certainly help.
