Early enabling works spotted at future Wixams railway station site

Contractors have started cutting an access route through trees and placing survey markers in the wooded area, while the main station site remains relatively quiet.

There’s still not a huge amount happening on the future Wixams railway station site, but there are definitely a few signs of progress.

In the foreground of this photo you can see where contractors have started cutting a route through the trees, creating access to the far side of the railway. They’ve also begun placing survey markers throughout the wooded area, which usually suggests more detailed work is getting underway.

The main station site itself remains fairly quiet for now, but these early enabling works are often the first step before activity starts to ramp up.

It’s only small progress at the moment, but after months of waiting, it’s good to see things beginning to move.

As always, I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know when there’s something new to report.
