Things are starting to change around the **concrete slab** at Universal Studios UK.
The original entrance has now been closed, with traffic instead being diverted onto the brand new tarmac access road. On its own that might not seem like a big deal, but it could be the next step in preparing for a much bigger change.
As you can see in the photos, the wall separating the Core Zone from the entrance to the concrete slab is still standing. My guess is that it won't be there for much longer. Without removing it, getting large dumpers through from the Core Zone towards the concrete slab and ultimately the Lake Zone would be far from ideal.
If that's the plan, I'd expect to see the wall come down within the next week or so. Once the ground has been prepared where it currently stands, and the temporary crossing over Manor Road is ready, we could finally see soil being hauled from the Core Zone across to the Lake Zone.
Exactly why that soil is being moved hasn't been officially confirmed yet, so for now that's still speculation. But it's another small piece of the puzzle falling into place, and it's great to see the site continuing to evolve.
