Let’s get this out of the way straight away: there is absolutely NO confirmation that Jaws is coming to Universal United Kingdom Resort. None whatsoever.

This is pure speculation and a bit of fun joining some dots.

Universal has just filed a fresh JAWS trademark application in the United States, and one particular part of it caught our attention. The new filing specifically covers: “Amusement park attraction and theme park services.”

On its own, that could mean absolutely nothing for the UK. Jaws is one of Universal’s biggest properties and there are plenty of perfectly ordinary reasons for Universal to protect the brand.

However, it gets a little more interesting when you look at the history. Universal previously held a US JAWS trademark specifically covering “entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park attraction”. That registration dated all the way back to 1991, but was eventually cancelled in 2021.

Fast-forward five years to September 2026 and Universal is applying again, this time explicitly including amusement park attractions and theme park services.

And, of course, all of this is happening while Universal is developing its enormous new resort here in Bedfordshire.

Does that mean we're getting a Jaws attraction? NO!

Could the filing be completely unrelated to Universal United Kingdom Resort? Absolutely.

But could Universal potentially be strengthening its trademark protection internationally ahead of bringing Jaws back into the theme park world in some form? Well… that's where the speculation gets interesting.

Personally, I would LOVE to see Jaws represented at Universal UK. Whether that's a modern reimagining of the classic attraction, something completely new, or even just a themed area or experience.

For now, though, this one goes firmly into the “interesting, but absolutely not confirmed” folder.

So let's speculate…

Would YOU want a Jaws attraction at Universal United Kingdom Resort?

And if Universal did bring Jaws back, would you want a modern version of the classic boat ride, or something completely new?
