If you regularly use Manor Road at Kempston Hardwick, here’s what the traffic management plans published by Bedford Borough Council appear to show.
From the plans, it appears that Manor Road will remain open from the Wootton side as far as Kempston Hardwick railway station for pedestrians. From the opposite direction, the road will remain open for residents and businesses near the concrete slab and Eastwood Cottages.
However, there will be no through route. The section of Manor Road between Kempston Hardwick railway station and Eastwood Cottages will be closed.
According to Bedford Borough Council, the closure is required to allow a dedicated plant crossing over Manor Road, enabling the movement of soil between the Lake Zone and Core Zone as construction of the Universal United Kingdom Resort continues. The closure is expected to be in place 24 hours a day from 27 July until 5 October 2026.
If you’re travelling by train, pedestrian access to Kempston Hardwick railway station will only be available from the western side during the works.
