The government has today, 21 September, published an update to the construction management plan for mass grading—the earthworks that prepare and shape the site for construction.
The approval covers three changes:
- A larger construction compound to support the works.
- Keeping and using the controlled plant crossing across Manor Road, allowing construction machinery to move between the Lake Zone and Core Zone.
- Moving the construction entrance known as CA1 to a new location.
There are rules attached: only one CA1 entrance can operate at a time, except in an emergency. Reopening closed construction entrances south of Manor Road, or adding entrances that haven’t already been approved, needs further government approval. Monitoring of Elstow Brook for sediment and pollution is also required.
This update concerns how construction is organised. It doesn’t announce new rides or attractions.
Although published today, the changes were approved on 21 August. The government concluded that they do not materially change the overall development or introduce materially new or different significant adverse environmental effects.
