Less than 24 hours after we asked whether readers would like to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal United Kingdom Resort, a publicly accessible PCL Construction project page on HammerTech has appeared with a striking title: “Project 1307 UUKR WWoHP”.
UUKR is an abbreviation Universal itself uses for Universal United Kingdom Resort. WWoHP appears to read as Wizarding World of Harry Potter — and that is a combination hard to ignore. That said, Universal has NOT announced Harry Potter for Bedford. This is not official confirmation and we are joining some dots here.
PCL Construction has a clear history of working with Universal on Harry Potter projects. PCL helped build the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, including Hogsmeade Village and Hogwarts Castle. More recently, PCL was involved with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe.
So, put together: a construction company with a history of building Wizarding World projects for Universal, a project apparently connected with Universal United Kingdom Resort, and a project title containing “UUKR WWoHP”. That combination is very difficult to ignore.
Could WWoHP mean something else? Yes. Could Project 1307 relate to something other than an actual Harry Potter land or attraction? Absolutely. We don’t know the scope of PCL’s involvement and, until Universal says otherwise, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Bedford remains unconfirmed. But this certainly feels like one of the strongest clues we’ve seen so far, especially when rumours of Harry Potter and potentially a Hogsmeade-style area at the UK resort have already been circulating.
Last night we were asking: “Would you like Harry Potter at Universal UK?” Less than 24 hours later, maybe the question is starting to become… “What Harry Potter experience could we actually be getting?” Hogsmeade and Hogwarts? Diagon Alley? Ministry of Magic? Or something completely new for the UK?
We’ll say it again: nothing is confirmed. But “Project 1307 UUKR WWoHP” has certainly got our attention. Over 1,100 of you reacted to our post on the topic, and this new listing has prompted plenty of debate.
