Things are definitely starting to get busier around the future Wixams Railway Station site — although it’s important to say that construction of the station itself hasn’t started yet.
What we are seeing right now is plenty of surveying and activity, particularly on the Ampthill Road side of the railway, where the future Universal UK Resort transport infrastructure and shuttle bus connections will be located.
Compared with that, the Wixams side is still looking fairly quiet at the moment.
It’s going to be really interesting watching this area change over the next few months. As we move towards 2027, we should hopefully start seeing much more visible activity as the station project progresses.
And this is a BIG piece of the wider Universal United Kingdom Resort puzzle.
The new station will ultimately provide an important public transport connection for the resort, helping potentially millions of visitors get to and from the site without relying entirely on cars.
For now though, it’s surveying, preparation and plenty of people in hi-vis!
We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on this one.
